"...the Metro Board voted at its January 7, 2009 meeting to hold a public hearing on Wednesday, January 27, to seek public comment on possible actions to eliminate a $40 million gap in the current fiscal year budget. The hearing will be held at 5:30 p.m. at Metro's Jackson Graham Building headquarters. Transit riders and advocates, plan to be there on January 27 to fight for public transit!


A press release announcing the public hearing has been posted on the Metro Web site.

Along with background information and details of proposed options for reducing costs, the online press release includes detailed information on the public comment process and instructions for registering to testify at the hearing or submit written testimony. Submissions must be received by the close of the hearing on Wednesday, January 27.
