The following are the SALSA Spanish classes for activists. Pre-registration is required. You may register easily by clicking on the links for any of classes below or call 202-234-9382 ext.229. You can also register on line at www.HotSalsa.org.
February 8
Spanish for Beginner; Session 1 6:45-8:45pm $250
Since Spanish speakers are fast becoming a "majority minority" in this country, savvy activists and community leaders are quickly becoming aware that speaking Spanish enables them to become more effective, to outreach to this growing sector, and to open doors for building friendship and collaborative relationships. Not a traditional course, this training program is a proactive, fun, well-paced, lively and engaging method to learn and master conversational Spanish for use in business, commerce and everyday life. This course cannot be included in the Unlimited Season pass or be subject to any discounts. Sessions will be held at 1025 Connecticut Ave. NW, suite 1000 (btw K & L St.). This class will last for eight (8) consecutive Mondays. Register here.

Spanish Conversation Club 6:45-8:45pm $250
Perhaps you've studied Spanish for years and probably know the grammar inside out but you still feel unable to converse comfortably. This program is intended to help you acquire confidence, perfect your language skills or maintain your language ability by meeting on a regular basis. You will spend 16 full hours (8 meetings, 2 hours each) with native Spanish experienced instructors in activities especially designed to help you develop and improve your Spanish conversational skills. You will read and discuss articles on contemporary topics, watch movies, and practice role-plays that will teach you how to express yourself correctly and confidently. This course cannot be included in the Unlimited Season pass or be subject to any discounts. Sessions will be held at 1025 Connecticut Ave. NW, suite 1000 (btw K & L St.). Refresher Spanish; Session 1 6:45-8:45pm $250
This is a course intended to offer students the opportunity to review basic sentence structures and everyday vocabulary and be introduced to new grammar topics and verb tenses. Course emphasis is on continued development of listening and speaking competencies that will allow students to hold conversations on various topics while expanding their vocabulary and employing new verb tenses other than the present. This course cannot be included in the Unlimited Season pass or be subject to any discounts. Sessions will be held at 1025 Connecticut Ave. NW, suite 1000 (btw K & L St.). This class will last for eight (8) consecutive Wednesdays. Register here.
