Planned Parenthood of Metropolitan Washington (PPMW) is again seeking volunteers to help staff the Montgomery County Thrift Shop

We need volunteers to assist...

Monday March 29, 2010

Come participate in this one time volunteer event as the Thrift Shop holds "Bag Day".  Patrons will come to the thrift shop, purchase a bag, and whatever items they can fit in the bag are theirs to keep!  This is sure to be a well attended day, so numerous volunteers are needed to spend a fun few hours assisting customers, boxing left over items, and helping Thrift Shop staff as needed.

Shift 1: 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Shift 2: 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Location:   Montgomery County Thrift Shop: 7125 Wisconsin Avenue, Bethesda, MD  20814.  Click here for a link to a map of the location.

Weekly on Mondays

For those of you who have free time on Mondays we also need volunteers to help staff the Shop weekly on Mondays.  There are two shifts available for you to sign up.

Time: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. OR 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Location: Montgomery County Thrift Shop: 7125 Wisconsin Avenue, Bethesda, MD  20814.  Click here for a link to a map of the location.

Please RSVP your availability and specific shift request to events@ppmw.org or call 202-347-8500 x7223 if you have questions or for more details.  We hope you can join us!

Why a Thrift Shop you Ask?!

The Montgomery County Thrift shop is a charitable non-profit organization that sells affordable used and vintage clothing, jewelry, books, CDs, and household goods. Profits from the Thrift Shop are donated to five non-profit charities providing direct services to Montgomery County residents, one of which is PPMW!  As part of this commitment, we help them throughout the year with staffing the Thrift Shop so that they can continue to provide affordable clothing and household goods to members of their community.
