"SURJ is a national network of groups and individuals organizing white people for racial justice. Through community organizing, mobilizing and education, SURJ moves White people to act as part of a multi-racial majority for justice with passion and accountability.We work to connect people across the country while supporting and collaborating with local and national racial justice organizing efforts. SURJ provides a space to build relationships, skills and political analysis to act for change.

Conjure! Freedom Collective

Conjure! are creative healing justice workers breathing a vision to heal the trauma of slavery, end racial caste, and form a new love politic in the U.S. 

Conjure! is curated from a positive desire to integrate healing and love-work, as we must do for ourselves, communities, and the world. The splitting apart of what we do and how we are by industries is no different from the same harm that we create in our spirits, bodies, relationships, and lands when we coerce separation.

Detention Watch Network

Detention Watch Network (DWN) is a national coalition of organizations and individuals working to expose and challenge the injustices of the U.S. immigration detention and deportation system and advocate for profound change that promotes the rights and dignity of all persons.

DWN Envisions:

  • A world without immigration detention where every individual lives freely.
  • A nation that fosters racial equality, values migration, and honors family unity.
  • A judicial system that promotes human rights and the dignity and due process rights of all persons.

Advancement Project is a next generation,multi-racial civil rights organization. Rooted in the great human rights struggles for equality and justice, we exist to fulfill America's promise of a caring, inclusive, and just democracy. We use innovative tools and strategies to strengthen social movements and achieve high impact policy change.

HEARD’s mission is to identify and remove barriers that prevent the deaf from participating in and having equal access to the justice system by enhancing the competence, capacity, and capability of justice professionals to manage language access and ability rights issues; and to empower the Deaf Community through education and advocacy.

HEARD’s vision is to create a universally accessible American justice system that equitably serves individuals who are deaf and hard of hearing.

DC Prisoner's Project

The Committee’s DC Prisoners’ Project advocates for the humane treatment and dignity of all persons convicted or charged with a criminal offense under DC law housed in prisons, jails, or community corrections programs, or living in the community on parole. The Project also works to assist formerly incarcerated people with issues related to their incarceration and strives to promote progressive criminal justice reform.

The Campaign for the Fair Sentencing of Youth

The Campaign for the Fair Sentencing of Youth is a national coalition and clearinghouse that coordinates, develops and supports efforts to implement fair and age appropriate sentences for youth. They provide technical assistance on strategic communications, litigation and advocacy  to attorneys, advocates, organizers and others working at the state and federal levels.

Free Minds Book Club and Writing Workshop

 Free Minds uses books, creative writing, and peer support to awaken DC youth incarcerated as adults to their own potential.  Through creative expression, job readiness training, and violence prevention outreach, these young poets achieve their education and career goals, and become powerful voices for change in the community.
