Bread for the World is a collective Christian voice urging our nation’s decision makers to end hunger at home and abroad. By changing policies, programs and conditions that allow hunger and poverty to persist, we provide help and opportunity far beyond the communities where we live.
The Young Activist Club, based in Takoma Park, Maryland, is working to eliminate single-use disposable polystyrene lunch trays at the Piney Branch Elementary School, a public school in the Montgomery County, Maryland school district. We are 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders at PBES as well as 6th and 7th graders from Takoma and Eastern Middle Schools.

Collective Action for Safe Spaces works to empower people in the DC metropolitan area to build a community free from public sexual harassment and assault. The web site contains a user-generated blog and several resources on the issue of public sexual harassment and assault.
The DC Abortion Fund (DCAF) is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization that makes grants and no-interest loans to DC area women and girls who cannot afford the full cost of an abortion. DCAF affirms women as decision-makers. They hope to make “choice” a reality because they believe that a woman’s right to health care should not depend on her wallet.
